Vikki, Kate's Macmillan Nurse, has been there for Kate from the moment she was diagnosed with cervical cancer at 30 years old. However after her treatment ended, Kate was given the devastating news that her cancer had spread and was now incurable. “Even then, Vikki was still saying, ‘it's fine, we can manage this, there are still so many things we can do to make you feel better. Having her there made a massive difference.” Now Kate and her family are trying to stay positive and enjoy the time they've got together. In fact, Kate says she's happier than ever. And that's got a lot to do with Vikki. “I felt like Vikki was a friend rather than a nurse. I couldn't have got through it without her, I really couldn't.”
Taking worries away, one by one, has helped Kate to concentrate on what's really important - spending as much time as possible with her family and really getting the most out of life.
It's super simple.
We're delighted that Sheilas' Wheels are back on board for Night In 2014. Here's what they had to say about the partnership:
‘Sheilas' Wheels are thrilled to be the official sponsor of Night In for the second year in a row after a bonzer launch year in 2013. We're totally committed to supporting Macmillan Cancer Support's brilliant work in improving the lives of people affected by cancer.
‘Our aim is to have an even bigger and better Night In than last time and we're working hard on some exciting plans, which will make this year's event as memorable as possible!
‘We're using our Facebook page here, to keep up everyone up to date with our goings on, so tell your friends & together we can help raise even more for Macmillan Cancer Support.'
What a bonzer sponsor!
